Frequently Asked
Questions

Straight answers about concrete coatings, our process, and what to expect.

General

The basics about who we are and how we work.

Triumph Concrete Coatings is a South Jersey shop based in Salem, NJ. The Triumph Concrete Coatings crew installs polyurea and polyaspartic coating systems on garages, basements, pool decks, patios, driveways, and commercial floors, bringing commercial-construction prep discipline to every job.

Our home base is 306 Quinton-Marlboro Road, Salem, NJ 08079. We are mobile by nature — every install is on-site — but Salem is where the trailer goes home at night and where free on-site estimates start from.

We cover Salem, Gloucester, Camden, and Burlington counties — including Cherry Hill, Haddonfield, Moorestown, Mullica Hill, Turnersville, Medford Lakes, Chesterfield Township, and the towns in between. If you are close to those, just call. We routinely look at floors in cities that are not on the list.

No scripted sales call, no rotating crew, no national catalog with one system for every slab. You meet the Triumph Concrete Coatings team, they look at the floor, they tell you what it actually needs — and the same crew is grinding it the morning the work starts. That is the whole pitch.

Yes. Triumph Concrete Coatings carries general liability insurance and is registered to operate in New Jersey. We are happy to share a current Certificate of Insurance before any work begins.

Services

Coating systems, materials, and where they fit.

Garage floor coatings, pool deck coatings, basement floor coatings, patio coatings, driveway coatings, commercial floor coatings, and grind-and-seal. All of them are built on the same commercial-grade prep — diamond grinding, crack repair, and moisture management — before any color goes down.

Old-school epoxy is brittle, slow to cure, and yellows in sunlight. Polyurea is roughly four times tougher than residential epoxy, cures fast enough to walk on the same day, and stays flexible so it does not crack with the slab. We do not install old-school epoxy on residential floors.

Acrylic sealers wear off in a couple seasons and require recoating. A polyaspartic topcoat is UV-stable, chemical-resistant, and bonded to a polyurea basecoat — not just rolled on top of bare concrete. It lasts years longer and shrugs off salt, gas, and hot tires.

Yes — that is exactly where polyaspartic shines. Outdoor coatings need UV stability, slip resistance, and freeze-thaw tolerance. We spec a textured polyaspartic system for decks and patios so the surface stays cooler underfoot, drains well, and does not turn yellow in the sun.

All three. Basement systems include moisture testing and vapor management before coating. Garage systems are our most common install. Commercial floors — showrooms, warehouses, light industrial — get a thicker build and an aggressive topcoat spec, scheduled around your operating hours.

Grind-and-seal exposes and densifies the natural concrete, then locks it under a clear sealer — a clean, industrial look at a lower price point. A full flake system adds a basecoat, broadcast color flake, and a polyaspartic topcoat for a decorative finish with more chip and stain protection. We will tell you which one your slab is a better fit for.

Process & Timing

What an install actually looks like, hour by hour.

Most residential garages are a one-day install — prep, basecoat, flake, and topcoat all in the same visit. Larger commercial floors and multi-bay garages may run two days. We will give you a written timeline before we start, not a vague window.

Yes — the floor needs to be completely empty so we can grind every square foot. We will tell you when to move things out, and we are happy to discuss tricky cases (workbenches, cabinets, freezers) in advance so there are no surprises on install day.

Foot traffic is typically same evening. Light traffic (rolling a tool chest, walking the dog) the next morning. Vehicle traffic at 24 to 48 hours, depending on temperature. We give you the exact times in writing for the day we install — cold mornings push the cure window out.

Diamond grinding the entire slab to a uniform profile, chasing and filling cracks and control joints, repairing spalled edges and pits, vacuuming the dust down to a clean surface, and moisture-testing if conditions warrant. The prep is the warranty — we never substitute an acid wash.

Most jobs go on the schedule one to three weeks out, depending on the season. Spring and fall book up faster than winter. Call (856) 275-1809 for the current lead time and to lock in a date.

Pricing & Warranty

Real numbers, written estimates, honest coverage.

Most two-car garages land between $2,400 and $4,200 depending on square footage, slab condition, and system selected. Larger garages, decorative flake upgrades, and serious surface repair move the number. You will get a written, itemized quote — never a verbal "trust me."

Yes — free, on-site, and not high-pressure. The Triumph Concrete Coatings team walks the slab, takes measurements and photos, and writes the quote on the spot or follows up the next business day. No deposit is required to get a number.

We can point you toward home-improvement financing options that work for coating projects — ask about it during the estimate and we will walk you through what is available. We are not pushing a particular lender on you.

Our polyaspartic systems carry a residential warranty against peeling, delaminating, and chipping under normal use. The exact term and coverage are spelled out in writing on every job — not buried in fine print. The single biggest reason coatings fail is bad prep, which is the part we refuse to cut corners on.

Damage from concrete that fails underneath the coating (a slab cracking from below), gouges from sharp impacts, chemical spills that sit untreated, and normal cosmetic wear in high-abuse zones are not covered. We walk through coverage exclusions during the estimate so there are no surprises later.

Care & Maintenance

How a finished floor holds up and how to keep it sharp.

A soft-bristle broom, a mop, and warm water with a mild pH-neutral cleaner is all you need. The topcoat is non-porous — spills wipe up rather than soaking in. Skip harsh acid cleaners and bleach; they are not needed and can dull the sheen.

Hot tire pickup is the classic DIY-epoxy failure mode — soft, low-grade coatings literally peel off when a hot tire cools on them. Our polyaspartic systems are spec’d specifically to resist that. With proper prep underneath, hot tires are a non-issue.

A properly prepped polyaspartic floor in a residential garage typically holds for 15 to 20-plus years before any meaningful recoating is needed. Commercial floors in high-abuse environments may need a topcoat refresh sooner, but the basecoat keeps doing its job.

Yes. Spot repairs to gouges or impact damage can be cut in, color-matched, and feathered into the existing topcoat. If the damage is widespread, we can re-topcoat the whole floor without redoing the basecoat or flake.

No — that is exactly why we use polyaspartic instead of epoxy. Polyaspartic topcoats are UV-stable and hold their color in direct sunlight, which matters for pool decks, patios, and garages with big windows or open doors.

Service Areas

Where we travel and how to ask about a town not on the list.

Salem, Cherry Hill, Haddonfield, Haddon Heights, Ashland, Pine Valley, Turnersville, Mullica Hill, Wenonah, Richwood, Beckett, Moorestown, Medford Lakes, and Chesterfield Township are the towns we serve most often. Full list and dedicated pages live under our Service Areas section.

Yes — those are core territory. Salem is home base. Cherry Hill is one of our most frequent residential markets. Burlington County (Moorestown, Medford Lakes, Chesterfield Township) is regular weekly work. No travel fees inside that zone.

We routinely cover all of South Jersey — Salem, Gloucester, Camden, and Burlington counties. For projects further out (north Burlington, parts of Atlantic County, or commercial work in Philadelphia metro), call and we will tell you whether it fits the schedule and whether any travel adjustment applies.

Probably, yes. The city list reflects where we have done the most work, not the limit of where we will travel. If you are within a reasonable drive of Salem, NJ, call (856) 275-1809 and we will tell you straight whether we can make the trip work.
